Rode & Associates receives top honours in PMR.Africa Awards

26-09-2018

Following its recent annual national survey on property valuers in South Africa, PMR.Africa has recognised Cape Town-based property valuers Rode & Associates with seven awards, including the coveted Diamond Arrow Award (1st overall) in the four categories of Commercial & Industrial, Residential, Retail and Agricultural Valuations.

Commenting on the award, Erwin Rode (CEO of Rode & Associates) says: “We were rated across a range of twenty attributes, from the quality, efficiency and clarity of the information we produce, our reputation and professionalism and our ethical standards and value-for-money services to the expertise of our staff.

“I have always been extremely proud of our team and I know they do exceptional work, but to be recognised in this way by our clients is truly an honour.”

The company was also recognised with Golden Arrow Awards for its work in three categories, namely Municipal and Specialised Valuations, and Hospitality.

PMR.Africa is a division of CJ Hattingh & Sons, a consultancy and research company also responsible for the business publication of the same name. Through the awards, PMR.Africa aims to acknowledge vision, integrity, values, competence and the “empathy” that companies contribute towards ethical and sustainable business practices. The purpose of the awards is therefore to enhance competitiveness – locally and internationally.

“In judging the attributes of property valuers,” notes Rode, “respondents were asked what criteria they would use to appoint a property valuer, and whether that company’s costs and pricing structure were clearly specified in service level agreements.”

The respondents also commented on the perceived strengths and weaknesses of the property valuers they rated.

Along with Rode himself, the valuation team at Rode & Associates is made up of seven members, the others being Karen Scott (valuations manager), Monique Vernooy, Tobi Retief, Madeniah Jappie, Marlene Tighy and Janelle Van Harte.”

Rode continues: “One of the functions of the PMR.Africa Awards is to set a benchmark in the industry. These awards are an excellent way of acknowledging and thanking all the members of our team for their hard work and contribution to a truly award-winning company.”
